For weekly cleaning, you can vacuum your rug, always along the fibers of the rug.
If you spill something, know that agave naturally repels liquids at first contact so treat it quickly by tapping with a dry cloth on the stain, so it doesn't spread. Then spray mild detergent with active oxygen over the stain, let it act for a couple seconds and gently scrub the strained area with a cloth.
